The inheritance of Harmankaya Castle is given to Gündüz Bey as a prize for his victory against Vizier Alemşah, who had earlier seized Harmankaya Castle from Tekfur Nikola.

 The period between now and then is spent by Gündüz Bey striving to bolster his claim to the principality as a consequence of this recent purchase. Meanwhile, Vizier Alemşah, expecting that Osman Bey would desire to pay a visit to Selcan Ana, who is on the approach of death, puts up a horrible trap for the prince and his company to fall into.
